A vast reservoir of energy was somehow made available. Always it seems as if a new
form of potent energy is clearly involved.

In modern physics, matter becomes interchangeable with energy. Within this new

cellular, molecular and atomic structures within the human body—a galaxy of
communication systems and energy patterns, being sent and received.

There exists a range of energies and awarenesses beyond the imprinted symbols of
rational thought which can work with a rapidity and efficiency beyond the workaday
conceptual processes.

Those aspects of the psychedelic experience which subjects report to be ineffable and
ecstatically religious involve a direct awareness of the energy processes which scientists

We can experience ourselves as a play of energy or a field of consciousness that is not
confined to a physical container. (In other words, we are far more than an ego enclosed

We have been taught to narrow our awareness to a fantasy world of symbol solids. But
that’s not how it really is. All matter is energy—everything is whirling change, even you!
Look at your baby pictures. Look in the mirror. You are a dramatically changing process.

All of creation—people, animals, plants and inanimate objects—seems to be permeated
by the same cosmic essence and divine light. A person in this state suddenly sees that
everything in the universe is a manifestation and expression of the same creative cosmic
energy and that separation and boundaries are illusory.

Bad trips may ultimately be good ones. The “bad trip” is one in which the person recoils
in terror when unexpectedly confronted with ranges of energy which he cannot control.
(This is the ego dying and one has to be prepared for it so that it’s not so “unexpected”.
As for the terror, it’s all in one’s mind or ego.)

Each atom is a structure of detailed intricacy held together by energy of such speed and
power that it eludes our conception. Each atom is a space-ship of galactic proportions
and at the center of each galactic structure God places the entire staff of his atomic
engineers. Do you understand the brilliance of the design?

Every time you take LSD you completely suspend, you step outside of the symbolic
chessboard which you have built up over the long years of social conditioning and you
whirl through different levels of neurological and cellular energy, continually flowing
and changing.

material goals and values by no means expresses the full potential of human beings.
According to this point of view, humanity is an integral part of the creative cosmic
energy and intelligence and is, in a sense, identical to and commensurate with it.

The person is at one with the universe. In his mystic selflessness he awakens with a
feeling of rebirth, often physically felt and he is provided with a new beginning, a new
sense of values. He becomes aware of the richness of the unconscious at his disposal; the
energies bound up in and by repression become available to him.

There are energy systems, blueprinting facilities and memory systems within your cells
and your nervous system which are hundreds of millions of years old, which have a
language and a politics which are much more complicated than English and modern
Democrat-Republican politics.

LSD subjects often consider the possibility that consciousness is a basic cosmic
phenomenon related to the organization of energy and that it exists throughout the
universe; in this context, human consciousness appears to be only one of its many
varieties and outgrowths. Episodes of consciousness of inorganic matter can be

Perceptions of encompassing light, infinite energy, ineffable visions, and

organism that has contributed to your present existence.

Three hundred years ago, if I announced there was a level of reality made up of tiny
particles which seem to have a beauty, a meaning, a planfulness of their own, I’d be in
danger of being imprisoned. When I could persuade people to look through the
microscope lens at a leaf, or a snowflake or a drop of blood, then they would discover
that beyond the macroscopic world are visible realms of energy and meaning.

Under conditioning, it seems impossible and even absurd to realize that myself does not
reside in the ego alone, but in the whole surge of energy which ranges from the galaxies
to the nuclear fields in my body. At this level of existence “I” am immeasurably old; my
forms are infinite and their comings and goings are simply the pulses or vibrations of a
single and eternal flow of energy.

We find drug subjects with little or no scientific training describing evolutionary
processes in some detail, spelling out the scenery of microcosm and macrocosm in terms
roughly equivalent to those used by the modern physicist, empathizing with primal states
of matter and energy and then recounting this experience in terms more reminiscent of
Heisenberg than of a hallucinatory state.

Events in the sessions are part of a broad pattern, the scope of which transcends the

I have finally come to myself and I have another body, a body of bliss, a pure body of
light and energy.

I felt in me an unshakable conviction that there is indeed a universal and God-created

I felt so blessed to have seen what I felt was this energy of creation at its purest and
highest vibration.

I had the keenest feeling of being out of my body, floating in the field of energy. It was
incredibly exhilarating.

I sensed that my identity was shifting from being the manifestation of this Energy to
being the Energy itself.

I sensed the cosmic quality of the energies and experiences involved in the world of
living forms.

It was like being at the very center of the energy source. It was like being in God—not
just in God’s presence, but IN God and participating in God.

My energetic field was now extended far beyond the boundaries of my physical body,
drawing emotional nourishment from this energy.

My pelvis was vibrating as enormous amounts of energy were being released in ecstatic
jolts.

Suddenly I felt the presence of a strong energy field, as though I were at the center of a
vortex of sacred energy.

As I looked around the room, I saw great bands of moving streams of energy particles
traversing the space, passing through and between myself and the other people. We all
seemed to be part of these moving, everchanging bands of energy.

As you returned from these experiences of pure contentless energy, the world of images
and categories in which we live our normal lives did indeed seem like a “plastic doll
world.”

LSD had flipped consciousness out beyond life into the whirling dance of pure energy,
where nothing existed except whirling vibrations and each illusory from was simply a
different frequency.

The body sensations were distinctly oceanic. The rushes were like waves and it seemed to
make self-evident the principle that everything in the universe was comprised of waves of
energy at varying frequencies.

The walls were vibrating and the air was becoming three-dimensional with psychedelic
trails and energy patterns moving through it. Everything was coming alive with
psychedelic energy.

They discovered within themselves that universal river of ecstasy from which flowed the
energy, power and refreshment to revive religious bodies tired out by too much
intellectualism, moralism and institutionalism.

This was a primal surge of unnamed energy, without direction or structure, amazing in its
power. One could only align oneself in the streaming torrent or the turbulence became
overwhelming. (If the ego fights this, it will have a very very hard time.

Every object in the room was a radiant structure of atomic-God-particles. Radiating.
Matter did not exist. There was just this million-matrix lattice web of energies.
Shimmering. Alive. Interconnected in space-time. Everything hooked up in a cosmic
dance.

I experienced a thunderbolt of ecstasy and my body dissolved into the flow of matter or
energy of which the universe is made. I was swept into the core of existence from which
all things arise and into which all things converge. Here there is no distinction between
subject and object, space and time, or anything else….

It dawned on me that all the building blocks of the social structure were really nothing
but an imposing veneer that kept you from being godlike, and that as soon as we knew
the true potential of our own energy frequencies to overcome or pass through the artificial
walls, the human spirit could be liberated.

People came out of these sessions reeling with awe, overwhelmed by experiences of
oneness with God and all other beings, shaken to the depths of their nature by the
grandeur and power of the divine life-energy processes going on within their own
consciousness.

Slowly, I felt the physical and energetic resistance between us give way. There was still a
solid form, but it was now somewhat fluid, like mercury. Then I felt the boundary
between what was me and what was him dissipate, and I merged totally into him. I felt a
complete oneness with him and his spirit, as though I’d gone right into his body.

It was as though a veil had been stripped away and certain things had become suddenly
self-evident. I realized that there was just one force in the universe. There is only one
energy and that is consciousness. And there is only one consciousness, one mind, and we
are, in fact, one with this, which means we are all one. I felt this was a revelation of the
true nature of reality.

Previously, I had forgotten the childish joy of simply being alive. Tripping makes you
feel the way an infant must feel, in the absence of discomfort, simply being: energetic,
open, interested. Tripping lent to my life the grace of fairy tales, where everything is
right and appropriate and satisfying. Psychedelic drugs engender storybook experiences:
one is tremendously cozy, delighted, enchanted, lucky.

The ordinary world was erased, it was expanded, enlivened and made infinitely more
interesting. For example, I became totally engrossed in contemplating the fascinating
edges of weaving around edges and radiating out from them. The telephone was a
veritable marvel of diamond studded, gem-encrusted, crystalline sculpture, yet itself also
moving, breathing, changing, as if it were alive.

What saved me from despair of my encounter with the Nothingness that lies at the heart
of All was the realization that what I had witnessed was the destruction of matter, not of
spirit. Modern physics tells us that matter is composed of atoms that stick together for a
time to form an object—a table, a wall, a human body. Matter is energy; I saw it re-
transformed.

He re-experienced his own embryological development, from the fusion of the sperm and
egg through the millions of cell divisions and processes of differentiation to a whole
individual. This was accompanied by an enormous release of energy and radiant light.
The sequences of embryonal development were intermingled with phylogenetic
flashbacks showing the transformation of animal species during the historical evolution

All of me seemed electrified. I felt energized, pure and glorified.
Ecstatic energies pulsated up my arms and rocketed into my brain.
Her powerful image-energy machine flooded mine and I spun into her head.
I could sense energies coming in from outer space and going out from the Earth.
I felt ecstatic, saturated with delight, security, joy and especially a marvelous energy.
I felt reborn in a transcendent fountain of All Energy.
I felt that my energy was somehow merged with the universe.
I passed through the levels of reality between the material world and pure energy.
I started noticing that the objects around me were endowed with awesome energy.
In their enthusiasm, they returned from the Other World with a childlike energy.
Incredible amounts of energy seemed to be flowing through his entire body.

My body felt elastic and full of energy.
My whole body was pulsing with new energy. I relaxed into this orgasmic vitality.
One felt one’s body to be super charged with energy.

There were fantastic energy flows and information flows going through me.
